Writing クラスを対象に使用言語の影響を調べたものである。Pre-writing activities を日本語(L1) と英語(L2) で行った場合の事例を比較した。比較の観点は、L2 writings の採点結果およびpre-writing activities に対する学習者評価である。L2 writingsは「産出語数、文法的正確さ、Q&A 反映部分、内容的深まり」の4項目について採点した。また質問票調査を通じて、pre-writing activities に対する学習者評価(4件法)とその理由(記述回答)を調べた。更にpre-writing activities 時の使用希望言語(3択)とその理由(記述回答)についても調査した。結果はL2 writing に関して使用言語による有意差は1 項目を除き見られなかった。Q&A 反映部分についてのみ、L2 でpre-writing activities を行った場合の方が有意に多かった。質問票調査の結果は、使用言語に関わらず、実験協力者の大多数がpre-writing activities を高く評価していたが、その理由は使用言語によって異なった特徴が見られた。L1 は「内容的深まり・気づき・伝わりやすさ」が、L2
