This is especially remarkable in his later works. This idea of Lawrence first can be seen in Women in Love, and becomes clearer in The Plumed Serpent. There is an reflection of the same idea also in The Virgin and the Gipsy. This story describes a young heroine who lives frustrated and dissatisfied within the \"pale\" and comes to understand the significance of living up to the flow of life attracted by the \"desire\" of a gipsy man who lives outside the \"pale.\" This is, in that sense, a story of \"passion.\" The Virgin and the Gipsy has a gipsy who lives a life-oriented life outside the social order, travelling around with no house to settle in. In that sense, the gipsy has the similarity with the native Indians following the life-impulse in New Mexico in The Plumed Serpent, Mellors enjoying a solitary life in the woods in Lady Chatterley's Lover, the man who once died and was wounded all over in The Man Who Died. Furthermore, what these stories have in common is that each of those characters regards life as endlessly streaming, not as fixed.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_1_source_id_13":{"attribute_name":"雑誌書誌ID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN10457429","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_1_text_10":{"attribute_name":"著者所属(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_language":"en","subitem_text_value":"Miyazaki Municipal University Faculty of Humanities"}]},"item_1_text_2":{"attribute_name":"記事種別(日)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"論文"}]},"item_1_text_3":{"attribute_name":"記事種別(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_language":"en","subitem_text_value":"Article"}]},"item_1_text_9":{"attribute_name":"著者所属(日)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_language":"ja","subitem_text_value":"宮崎公立大学人文学部"}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2014-04-01"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"KJ00007705759.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"87.0 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_11","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"KJ00007705759","url":"https://miyazaki-mu.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/838/files/KJ00007705759.pdf"},"version_id":"68581fca-71ee-4bad-bf46-5da76b116b0c"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"life","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"passion","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"desire","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"impulse","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"stagnation","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"”Desire” in D.
