| 内容記述 | The role of the individual in our highly information-intensive society is changing as the economy shifts from an emphasis on physical labor to that of intellectual labor. Therefore, the computer is used in all the fields and the operation of the computer becomes indispensable to us. Our university specialized in the liberal arts; the necessity for information processing skills is high. However, computer education rarely begins until Japanese students enter the university. Most of our students work with a personal computer for the first time when they enter the university. In this paper, we examine ways of improving the computer education curriculum in our university. We found that the students are very interested in the personal computer from their answer to questionnaire we distributed this year. However, there are few students who understand what a personal computer is capable of doing. Also, learning about the personal computer, the difference in scholastic ability among the students was revealed. There are a number of problems to be addressed concerning computer education for liberal arts students. From now on, we are planning to solve them. |
